I don’t know if y’all are feeling it but you must be, that year end slump, where you can see the holidays but you have no idea if you’re even going to survive till then (and if you’re not then tell me all your secrets please!!). While everyone is surprised that it’s suddenly December again, I feel like a zombie from the Walking Dead ambling toward the finish line.
So in order to pull myself through this month I have a few pockets of happiness scattered throughout the month to look forward to.
First up is The Husband’s birthday next week. I love birthdays especially his and The Munchkins. I love spoiling the people I love and birthdays are the perfect opportunity to take a moment and appreciate them. Because life gets busy and in the way. Also, I’m taking the day off to spend with him and I’m really looking forward to that!
Next up are two things I’m INCREDIBLY EFFING EXCITED for…
Star Wars The Force Awakens is coming out on the 16th and we’ve booked tickets at Nu Metro Scene to go see it on the 19th. Comfy seats AND a new Star Wars movie?! Christmas is definitely coming!
And speaking of Christmas, the Doctor Who Christmas special has me squealing with unadulterated joy because River Song (the Doctor’s wife) is back and this is the first time she’s seeing him in his 12th incarnation! The name of the episode was announced yesterday:

Speaking of Christmas, I’m actually taking leave this year. I usually work through December because it’s so quiet at work but I need a break and we’re heading to Gordon’s Bay for a week with The Grandparents. I’m incredibly excited to play on the beach with The Munchkin and take in a few quiet sunsets with The Husband. The soul needs a bit of rejuvenation after this hectic and stressful year. It hasn’t been the worst, but I’ll reflect on that in another post.
Usually my cousins and aunts come through for a day and I’m really looking forward to spending some time with them. I love my family and because life is so busy we don’t get to spend as much time with each other as we’d like to.
Don’t forget I’m giving away a Kellogg’s cereal hamper to ease the strain on your December wallet.
What are you looking forward to this December?

Ooh December slump is so real. Although I’m at hone recovering from having my gallbladder removed, there’s no relaxing when you’re stressing about going back to work and working another few weeks before you can go on holiday.
Yay for the new Star Wars movie! Enjoy it. I’m looking forward to catching up and rewatching all the movies again.
I want to take the kids away for a few days right on the beach. But I don’t want to go too far. Whereabouts in Gordon’s Bay do you stay when you go? Maybe I can book for next year sometime.
Good luck with the last few weeks before you go on leave. And enjoy your Hubby’s birthday!

Aww man! Good luck with your recovery! Try to make most of the rest you’re getting before you go back!
We’ve been catching up with the old Star Wars too – we have 1 and a half movies to go because when you have a kid you watch movies in parts.
We’re lucky that my parents have a flat out that way so we go often during the holidays.
