Last Tuesday we had our 20 week detailed scan at the Foetal Assessment Centre in Claremont. We were hoping to find out The Peanut’s gender this time because baby was being very uncooperative at my last gynae scan.
Alas, it was not to be. This kid is determined to keep his or her gender a surprise and to be honest I’m not really bothered about it. Which is very odd for me – because I am the most bis! With The Munchkin, I couldn’t wait to know but I think that was because I really wanted our first kid to be a boy. There’s just something nice about having a boeta.
And it’s not that I don’t care what it is – I just don’t have that overwhelming need to know. So seeing as we’re just over halfway and we’ve survived this long without knowing we decided to just let it be a surprise come birth day.
Other than that, the scan went well. All baby’s organs are there and baby is developing well. Doctor is happy with everything, so we’re happy with everything.
Gender neutral clothes aren’t boring!
The main “complaint” you hear from people when they hear you’re not going to find out the gender of your baby and say: “But how will we know what colour clothes to buy?” There are so many cute gender neutral neutral things in the shops, besides we have so many boy things from when The Munchkin was a baby and if it’s a girl well – we wouldn’t dress her in pink anyway.
We are just happy knowing that baby is healthy and developing nicely without any complications – that’s all we ever pray for.

It will be a nice surprise seeing as the birth date won’t be with another c-section.
We didn’t find out with either baby. It’s really such a lovely thing to find out on the day! And extra special layer of excitement and anticipation!
Yeah, definitely! I think my family is more excited than I am!
