On this Youth Day morning I’m lying in bed with both my babies awake. One is laughing like a drain while watching Masha and the Bear in Russian (like he even understands). The other one is kicking away in my belly.
I just realised I missed the halfway mark yesterday but now there you have it – that’s second pregnancy for you.
I actually had to sit a long while and think about where we’re at right now.
I have not been taking bump pics because to be honest I’m too lazy and I hate taking pictures of myself.
Baby’s been moving a lot more lately. I’ve been feeling flutters and movements throughout the day.
I’ve bought a few newborn cloth nappies, some second hand, some new and they’re so, so, so small! They look like doll’s nappies. I don’t remember The Munchkin ever being so small and now I’m worried they won’t fit but at least they can be sold on if they don’t so I’m not too stressed about it.
We’ve still not found out the gender because baby was moving far too much at our last scan and at one point put his/her hand between it’s legs. So that was a no go.
We have a detailed scan at the Foetal Assessment Centre next week so we’re hoping to find out then.
We’ve haphazardly thrown a few names around but nothing that we love for either gender has come up. The Munchkin is the only one who is not budging on his choice of name – Ice cream.
Ramadaan
I’m not fasting because of the pregnancy and will pay the days back at a later stage but the Ramadaan has been going well and it’s so nice to boeka in our new home. Because it’s much smaller than the first house we loved lived in, it’s so easy to just get into bed after the evening prayers. Everything is closer.
The Munchkin loves “laaing time” and we’re going to get him his own prayer mat because he keeps trying to shove The Husband off his one while we’re praying.
Once a week we eat at our respective parents homes which is also great because it’s really nice to spend time with our families. There’s just something about breaking your fast with the people you love.
And that’s that for now. This pregnancy has been uneventful, Alghumdullilah. My doctor is happy with the growth of baby and I’m hoping everything will be okay at next week’s scan as well.

Gosh! Halfway! It goes fast from here until the last few weeks!!
Enjoy it 🙂
Can’t you adjust the nappies? The ones we had you could make bigger by moving the poppers across?
Zayaan Schroeder says
The one size fits most do adjust but they don’t fit tiny newborns. All R’s nappies are the adjustable ones. Some of them *might* but most don’t. They only really fit nicely from around 5/6kgs.
