What’s happening over in our neck of the woods

I’m sitting here at my desk, looking at my content calendar and I’m just not feeling any of the posts I have written down. I think it’s because I’m in this transitional phase where I am finishing up having a 9-5 office job and taking on the role of Stay At Home Mom, Homeschooler and Freelancer. I mean, it’s big mental shift. Also there’s so much admin that comes with resigning and taking on a freelancing role.

But I’m really looking forward to it you guys! I’m also a bit scared though. I spoke to my dad’s tax guy the other day and tax as a freelancer is a bit complicated.

I’m also going to miss my friends at work and adult interaction on the whole. I need to make some stay at home mom friends.

The Munchkin is turning FOUR! on Monday and we have a little adventure day planned out for him tomorrow instead of doing a party. Last year’s party made me both broke and stressed and it’s not something I will do willingly again. Maybe when the kids are a bit older and have actual friends they want to celebrate with.

He’s basically an adult!

But also that means that The Potato’s FIRST birthday is a month away and I’m having small heart palpitations that my baby will no longer be a baby. She’s still so small for her age so it doesn’t compute that she’s turning ONE!

So I’m feeling a lot of thoughts but none of them are translating to this blog. I’m hoping that once I make the shift to being home that I’ll have more time and fresh inspiration to share with everyone.

I’ve been researching how to homeschool a preschooler. I’ve been looking for apps and printables to help me stay organised and on top of things and I’ve been putting together a routine for us so that I don’t lose my mind and we don’t end up just becoming couch potatoes (a very real possibility if I’m being honest). So in due time I’ll be sharing all that with you.

Wish me luck!

I can’t believe the kids are getting so big! Especially that Potato. Take all the time you need to adjust and settle. You got this. 😉 x

    Hey, that’s so exciting.
There’s an awesome Facebook group for homeschooling in South Africa. I’m still not homeschooling but there’s lots of tips etc. And lots of people ask for help and ideas .
