The Play On Me table makes car rides fun again

A few weeks before Easter we were sent the Play On Me table to review. The Munchkin was beyond excited for his table. He wanted to use it immediately and damn my plans to only test it out on our Easter weekend road trip.

So off we went to Veldriff on Easter Weekend, so we could give it a real run for it’s money and it was so great and keeping a bunch of activities, snacks and his water on hand for him.

What we love

It’s so easy to put on and clip off  a that we use this daily. It’s the best thing to keep him occupied and his hands off his sister. This ease of use is an important safety feature too, because it’s easy for emergency services to remove should we God forbid get into a car accident.

Tantrums in the car have definitely reduced because he always has something to play with.

With 2 zip pockets and 2 net pockets on either side it definitely keeps the back seat clear of his toys. Of other various baby and kid paraphernalia and clothes, not so much. But I don’t have to go digging for a stray dinosaur or car.

What we don’t love

When we opened it we expected the play surface to be a bit sturdier. It’s a bit soft and flimsy but he actually manages fine with colouring and drawing on it.

While the softness does mean it’s more comfortable, the material can be uncomfortable if it gets very hot or cold while lying in the car. We’ve solved this problem with throwing a blanket over his legs if it’s cold and all I can say is thank God for aircon in the summer.

But these are not deal breakers for me. There’s not much to not like about this.

Where can you get it?

It’s available on the Hauck SA website for R399.

The Play On Me is suitable for all Group I car seats.

Looks like a good asset to have when travelling with kids. Would this be useable for a kid not in a car seat? I have older kids too…and I’m sure they’d all be fighting each other if I only had 1 for the toddler. lol.

Unfortunately it’s not sturdy enough to use on it’s own. It clips around the back of the car seat to keep it in place.

I love this especially the side pockets! We do a lot of long distance driving, because grandparents live in another province. Thank you for sharing
