Things I love

New shows I’m looking forward to

It’s that wonderful time of the year. My most favourite right after Comic-Con. It’s the time when all the series start up again in what America likes to call The Fall. That’s Autumn for the rest of us who’ve been colonised by the Brits. And Spring for everyone in the Southern Hemisphere.

As a  working mother, I have very little time to myself as is, so I very reluctantly add new shows to my already full roster. Luckily The Munchkin is fast asleep by the respectable hour of 8pm which gives me 2-3 hours to catch up on series, blogging, reading blogs and getting ready for the next day.

Here are the shows I’ll be checking out (I usually give them a 5 episode chance to find their feet being new and all) this “Fall” season.

Melissa Benoist is super cute as Kara Zor-El and the trailer was intriguing. It’s made by Greg Berlanti who also has a hand in Arrow and Flash so I’m not too worried about it being a flop.

Starts 26th October

This peaked my interest. Also there’s Muslim character in hijab which is a change for a US show.

Started on the 27th September

Not going to even lie, one of my TV boyfriends, Chris Wood is in this show. He was fantastic as last season’s villain on the The Vampire Diaries! I honestly don’t know how much seasons they could possibly get out of a premise where the conclusion is either everyone dies or they find a cure.

Starts in the mid-season, sometime in Januray 2016

Jon Stamos is a surprise grandfather. This just looks like it’s going to be cute and heartwarming.

Started on the 29th September

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

A spin-off and another addition to Greg Berlanti’s super hero franchise he is slowly building over at The CW. If you watch Arrow or Flash then definitely check this out! Also, Wentworth Miller is ridiculously villainous, it’s so fun to watch him play.

Starts in the mid-season, sometime in Januray 2016

Heroes Reborn

I was a fan of the first Heroes before it went down the toilet so I will definitely be watching this in hopes that it will redeem the last series and also Zachary Levi is one of my favourite humans.

Started on the 24th September

Based on a character from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic book series, this looks like it’s going to be so much fun!

Starts in the mid-season, sometime in Januray 2016

My favourite and best humans ever are Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. I can watch them on panels for hours and be amused and enarmoured forever. They’ve made a new series together called Con-Man which I’ve obviously ordered.

It’s was released on Vimeo yesterday and the first episode landed right in my inbox!

What new shows are you looking forward to this season?

Quantico’s pilot was pretty good. How weird seeing Priyanka speak with a passable American accent! And yay doekies – hope that plot line doesn’t unravel into any number of stereotypes
