Gaming, Things I love

It’s Comic Con weekend!

san-diego-comic-con-2010

This is perhaps the weekend I look forward to most in the year. San Diego Comic Con! I am beyond excited every year. I flit between desperately wanting to be there in person and running for the hills because I hate being crowded by people and standing in long lines. I can’t stress how much I hate these two things.

So I live vicariously through the lucky sods who get to walk the floor and take in all the geeky goodness and especially those who get to attend all the panels of my favourite shows. Because like good little fans they take videos and post it online for me to watch and revel in. But these are often choppy, handheld and often not the entire thing.

The great thing about post Comic Con weekend is that the trailers of highly anticipated movies are often shown and while Marvel is not having a big shindig in Hall H this year (why even?! Almost like they don’t have movies to promote and fans to please), DC is still around and I’m eager to see if the trailer for Superman vs Batman will be shown and if there will be any more information on the Suicide Squad movie.

The trailer I’m most looking forward to though is the Warcraft movie that is due for release on the 10th of June 2016. I’m reeeeeally hoping we’ll get a trailer for this.

Nerd HQ

NerdHQ is possibly the BEST thing to happen at Comic-Con. The wonderfully geeky Zachary Levi started this back in 2011, where he would have fan favourites come in and have an intimate chat with the fans. It’s called Conversations for a Cause and all the proceeds go to Operation Smile which helps kids with cleft lip. Nathan Fillion (aka Darling Nathan – but on a serious note guys, if you haven’t watched Firefly we can’t be friends) usually does more than one panel where he also auctions off random things he’s gotten to raise even MORE money. Because Nathan Fillion is made of gold!

But the best part, THE BEST PART, is that every one of the Conversations is live streamed on The Nerd Machine’s YouTube channel and is available to watch afterwards. And they’re such great fun. He’s gotten so many cool people to come this year and I am beyond excited!

And while all this is great, NerdHQ is about more than just Conversations for a Cause. Take it away Zach:

Me basically.

If you want to you can catch up on the previous years Conversations for a Cause I’ve linked them down below. They’re really entertaining and fun to watch:

I’m not sure yet! Leto is a really good actor. This Joker seems unhinged which is great but I think I still need to see more. People gated the thought of Heath Ledger’s Joker and look how well he did.

[…] that wonderful time of the year. My most favourite right after Comic-Con. It’s the time when all the series start up again in what America likes to call The Fall. […]
