How this pregnancy’s been different

This is not me… hahaha… I wish I looked this glowing

Aside from being an impatient B and being constantly sick, this pregnancy has been both similar and very different from the last one.

Similarities being that it’s been (touch wood and continue making duas that it stays that way) health wise uneventful. I’ve also had no morning sickness barring the first week when we found out.

But this pregnancy has brought on something the last one didn’t: cravings. So far it’s been:

  • Cold milk
  • Avocados
  • Vegetable spring rolls from Nuri Sushi. It has to be from there because it’s butternut, sweet potato and corn served with a sweet chilli and peanut butter sauce – my God!

The heartburn and indigestion is starting way earlier this time around which would probably explain the milk. No jokes, I got up at 3am last night to drink milk straight from the carton like some sort of savage (I’m sorry Zain!) With The Munchkin I only really got it towards the end.

Another thing is my skin. There is a small village of pimples that has sprouted from God knows where making my face look like the worst. Nothing I try will get them to leave. So concealer has been my best friend until I lost said concealer and have been too lazy to buy more.

I’ve started showing earlier too. But this is probably due to the fact that I already looked four months pregnant before we even conceived. So now I look at least 7 months along and I hate it. The surprise on people’s faces when they learn I’m only 16 weeks along is getting annoying now.

The time is simultaneously rushing by and dragging it’s feet. We don’t know what the gender is yet so we’ve not begun thinking of names. I can’t remember what we need for a newborn but I’m sure there’s a list somewhere and we probably have most of it already. I mean, what more could a baby need than a boob, nappies, a car seat, some clothes and blankets and a place to sleep?

I’ve made a note to eventually go through The Munchkin’s newborn and baby things but I’m sure that if we had enough stuff for him at the time, we’ll have enough for The Peanut.
