February Favourites

February got off to a rocky start, you guys. First, I got robbed on the train, then some skurkies decided to go shopping on our washing line (most of the things belonged to The Munchkin so I was extra pissed off) and then I’m still perpetually broke (how even?! – I don’t know)

But here are a few things that took the sting off this awful month.

My Birthday!

My mommy’s birthday is in the beginning of the month and mine at the end. So we had a joint celebration at The One and Only hotel at the V&A Waterfront. The treats were amazing but the best part was being surrounded by all the women in my family. Seriously, this is such a strong and vibrant group of women and I am beyond lucky to have them in my life. They inspire me, they love me, they make my heart full.

Lost Stars

I love this song by Adam Levine. It’s from a movie called Begin Again also starring Keira Knightly and Mark Ruffalo. I’ve been listening on repeat!

Despicable Me

This is the Munckin’s favourite for February because it’s the only thing he will actually sit still to watch (aside from Charlie and Lola) for at least 3/4 of the movie. I actually cooked an entire meal and not once did I have to stop to get him out of the pantry or stop him from destroying the blinds. I thought maybe he’s attention span is increasing but it seems other movies don’t have the pulling power of the Minions. I tried How To Train Your Dragon 2 but he gave not a single stuff about Toothless, which broke my heart.

Kinetic Sand

This stuff is AMAZING! We got sent this at work to review so I will link to that as soon as it’s up on Parent24. It’s sooooo relaxing to play with that I find myself playing with it – and then it’s a half an hour later. It’s like a combination of wet sand and  play dough.

So even though the month didn’t start out all that great we find our silver linings where we can.

Don’t forget I’m giving away a Magic Mesh window shade. Go here to enter!

Aww, thank you so much. Even I love the minions so I really don’t mind watching this movie over and over again.

The party looked amazing! Happy belated birthday to you and your mommy.

My little ones only got through the first few minutes of Despicable Me but will watch Frozen an infinite number of times. Oh how I wish they would pick minions instead!
