Featured Blogger of the Month: Meet Melanie Blignaut

Right, so my blog buddy for the month is the beautiful Melanie Blignaut from Wind in a Letterbox. Cindy Alfino truly is a genius with this idea because not only do you, lovely readers, get to know of a new blog but I get to make a new friend.

Following Melanie on all her social media for these past few weeks has been great. Her girls are the cutest! She’s a superstar homeschooling mommy (homeschooling mommies will always have my respect because that is not an easy thing to do!), she’s so crafty – I’m saving so many ideas from her blog to do with The Munchkin when he’s a bit older and she’s just an all round lovely lady.

Getting to know you

Tell me a bit about your family
I’m a work-from-home mom of two girls: Angie is four (going on 14) and Emmy is two-and-a-half.  I write, blog and teach preschool drama.  My husband, Jacques, is an actor.  We’ll have been married for six years at the end of May.

Melanie Blignaut and family

What do you blog about?
I blog about my life – raising two daughters, trying to be a good wife – and my faith.

What’s the best and worst parts of being a mommy?
I’ll start with the worst – sleep-deprivation! I’m much better at motherhood when I’ve had some sleep.  The best – I can’t pick one specific thing. I love snuggling with my girls.  I love seeing how they’re growing and developing into themselves. I love the conversations we have.

What do you like to do if you have any spare time?
Spare time?  What is this spare time you speak of? I’m a bookworm, so I read whenever I can get the chance.  And take naps. I like naps.

Lightning Round!

Peanut butter or jam?
Peanut butter. (Yes, I’ve been known to eat it straight out of the jar.)

Email or talking on the phone?
Email.  I’m an introvert.

Real books or e-books?
Real! Nothing can beat the smell of old pages. (I will confess that I am less anti-ebooks than I used to be, though.)

Facebook or Twitter?
Both.  Twitter is a great way to connect with my blogger friends but most of my close friends and family are only on Facebook.

So go subscribe to Melanie’s blog, Wind in a Letterbox, follow her on Twitter you can also find her on Instagram, Pinterest and of course, good old Facebook
